About Flame Heat
Flame Heat is a free guide to gas boilers in UK homes. We want it to be the easiest place to find out about your boiler. That means its model, its manual, what its fault codes mean and how it should be serviced.
Boiler information is spread across dozens of maker websites. Some of it is hard to find, and a lot of the copies online are wrong. We bring it together in one place, in plain English.
Where our facts come from
We follow a few simple rules:
- Makers first. Fault codes, model names and manuals come from the boiler maker's own website or manual. We don't copy them from other sites.
- Sources shown. Each fault code table links to the page it came from.
- Dates shown. Each page says when we last checked it. Makers change their websites, so we check again over time.
- No guessing. If we can't confirm something, we leave it out. A short page is better than a wrong one.
Why we link to manuals
We don't host copies of boiler manuals. Makers update their manuals, and an old copy can give out-of-date advice. Instead, we link to the maker's own download page. That way you always get the current version, straight from the source.
Safety comes first
Some boiler jobs are safe for anyone to do, such as topping up the pressure or thawing a frozen pipe. Our guides explain those step by step.
Anything inside the boiler case needs a Gas Safe registered engineer. That's the law in the UK. Where a job needs an engineer, we say so clearly. You can check any engineer on the Gas Safe Register.
We're independent
We are not linked to any boiler maker. Brand names and model names belong to their owners. We use them only to help you find the right information for your boiler.
What's coming next
The site is new, and it's growing. Next, we're adding:
- more boiler makers, with their own pages;
- a page for each popular model, with links to its manuals;
- full fault code lists for each maker;
- service guides for engineers, based on the makers' manuals.
