Vokera boilers
Vokera has made boilers for homes in the UK and Ireland for over 40 years. You’ll often see the name written as Vokèra. It says it has installed more than 1.5 million heating products. Vokera is part of the Ariston Group, so it’s a sister brand of Ariston.
The Vokera range
Vokera sells four main boiler ranges. Each comes as a combi, and most come as a system boiler too. System models add an S to the name, such as the Pinnacle S.
- Pinnacle comes with a 12-year parts and labour warranty.
- Synergy comes with 10 years.
- Vibe MAX comes with 7 years.
- Easi-Heat i comes with 5 years.
Older Vokera names you might still have include Mynute, Linea, Compact, Unica and Vision. Vokera keeps many of their manuals online. Its literature page also shows the GC number for each model. That makes it easy to check you’ve got the right one.
How Vokera boilers show a fault
Newer Vokera boilers show a code that starts with A, then two numbers. For example, A40. Some codes come with a small icon. There’s one for a flame fault, one for water pressure and one for everything else.
Some codes are short-term. The boiler clears them by itself once the problem has gone. Others lock the boiler out until you reset it. To reset, hold the reset button for more than two seconds. If a reset doesn’t work, Vokera says to call for help.
The codes in the table come from the Vibe MAX manual. Older Vokera boilers may use different codes. Always check the manual for your model.
Low pressure: A41, then A40
This one confuses people. When the pressure falls below 0.3 bar, the boiler shows A41. If it’s still low after 10 minutes, the code changes to A40, and the boiler stops. You’ll fix both the same way. Open the filling valve slowly until you hear water going in. Stop when the pressure reaches 1 to 1.5 bar, then press reset.
Vokera says that if you have to top up often, there may be a leak. Ask your installer to check the system. Our guide shows how to top up low boiler pressure.
A10 in cold weather
A10 usually means the boiler couldn’t light. But Vokera’s list also links it to a blocked condensate drain. So in freezing weather, check the condensate pipe outside first. Here’s how to thaw a frozen condensate pipe.

Common Vokera fault codes
Codes can differ between models and ages of boiler. Always check the user manual for your exact model.
| Code | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
A41 | The pressure has dropped below 0.3 bar. If it stays low for 10 minutes, the code changes to A40. | Top up with the filling valve to 1 to 1.5 bar. |
A40 | The system needs filling. The boiler has stopped. | Top up to 1 to 1.5 bar, then press reset. If it drops often, call your installer. |
A10 | Flame lockout. It can also mean the condensate drain or the flue is blocked. | Check your gas supply and look for ice on the condensate pipe. Reset once. If it comes back, call an engineer. |
A20 | The limit thermostat has tripped. The boiler got too hot. | Call a Gas Safe engineer. |
A30 | Fan fault. | Call a Gas Safe engineer. |
A91 | The main heat exchanger needs cleaning. It shows after about 2,500 hours of use. | Book a service with a Gas Safe engineer. |
Vokera manuals
Vokera puts its user guides and installation manuals on its own website. You can find Vokera manuals here. You'll need your model name. The GC number helps too. Our guide shows you how to find your boiler's model and GC number.
Stay safe. You can reset a boiler, top up its pressure and thaw a frozen condensate pipe yourself. Anything inside the case is a job for a Gas Safe registered engineer.
